The South China Sea is of strategic importance in US foreign policy in East Asia. China's economic growth and, as a result, the strengthening of its military power, especially the navy, and the movements of this force in the South China Sea have caused the coastal countries and the United States to worry about Beijing's dominance over the region. This issue caused Washington's intervention and extensive presence in East Asia under the pretext of supporting freedom of navigation operations; But in fact, it has been done to prevent Beijing's increasing rise and create a balance to its detriment in the region. Thus, the main question of the main question of the research is, what measures has the United States taken to prevent China from dominating the South China Sea? The hypothesis of the article is that since the increase of China's economic and military power and the consequent expansion of its regional influence in the South China Sea, it is considered a strategic threat to the coastal countries and the United States; Therefore, by claiming to support freedom of navigation, Washington has turned to expanding its presence in the region and building alliances with China's neighboring countries, and in this way, it is trying to balance Beijing's growing power in the region and prevent it from dominating East Asia. Qualitative analysis method was used to analyze the research data.
